SMITHILLS School's senior brass band is making another trip to the United States.
The world champions, fresh from two wins at the famous Saddleworth Whit Friday march contests, are set to embark on their third tour of America.
The pupils and their musical director, Chris Wormald, fly out at the end of July to play several concerts in the southern states of North and South Carolina.
The band has been rehearsing a varied repertoire for the tour, including music from Les Miserables, Pirates of the Caribbean and Riverdance.
Soloists will be principal cornet Joanna Hurst, Jessica Briggs on flugel horn, Laura Shannon playing tenor horn, Sally Pass on euphonium and Matthew Ryan.
The band is to record a new CD on its return, which is due for release later in the Autumn.
