FLAMES came close to spreading to a home after a car was set alight while parked on a driveway.
Firefighters were called to Winton Grove, Ladybridge, at 4.10am today after the Volkswagen Golf was targeted in a suspected arson attack.
The fire spread to an Audi A4 also parked on the driveway and in his call to the fire service, the shocked resident of the large detached house said he feared that his home would also catch light.
Watch Commander Charlie Harrison, of Horwich Fire Station, said the Golf had been totally destroyed.
