Wanderers Under-18s remain unbeaten after a creditable 2-2 draw at Arsenal. The young Whites took the lead when Tom Walker came in from the wing to side-foot home after good work by Elliot Newby. Wanderers pressed for a second goal but just before half-time the hosts levelled. David Lee’s side upped their game after the interval and created several good chances, Zach Clough and Tom Youngs both going close. A second goal duly arrived and it was similar to the first with roles reversed for Newby and Walker. This time, it was Walker who crossed for Newby to make it 2-1 from 12 yards. It looked like the Whites were set for another impressive win but in the final minute of the match, the Gunners equalised for a second time. It was disappointing for coach Lee but he was still upbeat and pleased the unbeaten run continued, saying: “We were positive in the first half and created several good chances. “We just lacked the clinical edge when it came to finishing our good play, something in previous games we've capitalised on. “Our second-half performance was better and their second goal in the last minute was totally against the run of play. “Overall, the performance was pleasing, and our unbeaten run continues.”
