WALKDEN’S Alan Halsall has been shortlisted for a gong at this year’s National Television Awards (NTAs).
The actor, who plays Tyrone Dobbs in ITV’s Coronation Street, has been nominated in the Serial Drama Performance category.
The newcomer category also honours another face from Corrie, Natalie Gumede, who plays Tyrone’s violent partner, Kirsty Soames.
Suranne Jones is nominated in the Drama Performance (Female) category for her role as DC Rachel Bailey in the detective drama Scott and Bailey.
Multiple NTA winner Benidorm is nominated once again in the Situation Comedy category, against Absolutely Fabulous, US sitcom The Big Bang Theory and Mrs Brown’s Boys.
The full shortlist was set to be revealed on the NTA website today, as the final round of voting opens for the TV awards ceremony.
It will be screened on ITV1 on January 23 at 7.30pm.
