CRAIG Davies hopes Wanderers fans will have more reason to celebrate his next Reebok rocket.
The Wales international striker scored a sensational equaliser for Barnsley just a few months ago but quit Oakwell on Wednesday to become Dougie Freedman’s first permanent signing.
And the £300,000 capture hopes his new club’s fans will soon be singing his name just the same way as the Tykes fans did that day.
“That goal was pretty special because I’d just got back,” he said.
“It was the place as well – you always look for the clubs who have just got relegated from the Premier League – so scoring at the Reebok was great and hopefully it won’t be the last.”
Davies, who has turned out for 12 different professional clubs, admits this is the biggest move of his career.
“I believe that anything is possible. That’s the kind of guy I am,” he said.
“I believe in myself but this is the one I wanted. This is a big club, so it didn’t take much persuading to come here, to be honest.”
