FORMER X Factor finalist Diana Vickers has landed her first TV acting role for a new comedy series which is being filmed in Victoria Square this week.
The starlet, who was mentored by Cheryl Cole, shot to fame in 2008 on the hit TV show due to her unique singing voice and bare-footed performances.
She will also be joined by Hollyoaks’ Alex Carter, Him & Her star Kerry Howard and former EastEnders actress Tracy-Ann Oberman.
The programme, called Give Out Girls, follows the exploits of young people who work in a promotional company.
The six-part comedy series will be aired later this year on Sky Living.
On Monday the Once singer tweeted: “On set filming #giveoutgirls :) what’s everyone else up to?”
Earlier this month she uploaded a photo of the scripts to Instagram and told a national newspaper: “I’m so excited about doing my first comedy show. It’s different from any acting I’ve done before.
“The script is hilarious — I was laughing my head off just reading it. The rest of the cast are great. We all have really good chemistry. I can’t wait to get in front of the camera and start filming.”
Since The X Factor, Diana has also trod the boards in a musical production of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice in London’s West End in 2009.
