MURDER suspect Michael Cope is believed to have been spotted in Hindley.
Police have now released CCTV images of a man they believe to be Cope, taken from a convenience store in Atherton Road.
Cope withdrew money and is seen buying food at about 1.25pm on Sunday, July 14.
Cope is wanted for the murder of Linzi Ashton, a mother-of-three who was found dead at her home in Winton on June 29.
Det Chief Supt Darren Shenton urged the people to help their investigation and call the police if they have seen the man in the images.
He added: "I would also ask that people in this area remain vigilant — we believe Cope is familiar with the canal pathways between Salford and Leigh and may have spent time near the canal and waterways in Hindley.
"However, in their vigilance we would like to remind people that if Cope is seen he is not to be approached, as we do believe that he is dangerous and could be armed.”
Cope is also believed to have been spotted in Boothstown.
Anyone who sees him is warned to call the police immediately on 0161 8565092 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
