THE crowds flocked in their thousands, the rain stayed away and the stellar dance festival line-up shook the fields to their core.

After last year’s Sunday washout, which saw Creamfields organisers forced to cancel the event on the final day, everyone was hoping for better luck this year.

And thankfully, the weather was onside with the world-renowned electronic festival back stronger than before with the likes of Swedish phenomenon Avicii headlining the South Stage on Saturday and Eric Prydz hosting the Pryda Friends tent.

Steve Angello — one third of Swedish House Mafia — was on top form, treating dance fans to one of his epic sets in the Size Matters tent which also played host to Benny Benassi, as well as AN21 & Max Vangeli.

Steve’s set started off with plenty of power and big beats before ascending into a hands in the air singalong to tracks including Don't You Worry Child and Cinema, complete with pyrotechnics, fireworks and streamers.

Out on the North Stage, The Prodigy — one of the most influential dance acts on the planet — whipped the crowd into a frenzy as daylight disappeared and they launched into their set with Voodoo People.

The energy and punk rock aggression never faltered throughout 90 minutes as the crowd sang, danced, jumped and shoved, as Liam Howlett, Keith Flint and Maxim stormed through songs including Firestarter, Breathe, Take Me to the Hospital and World’s On Fire.

On before The Prodigy was Madeon who, at just 18-years-old, made the North Stage his own with his brand of electro house.

With more than a nod to Daft Punk, his set included his remix of Blur’s Song 2 and Finale.

And Luther actor Idris Elba, not content with just a sparkling television and Hollywood career, took to the decks in the Toolroom Ten tent to prove he knows how to get a party started.

The line-up for Creamfields 2014, which will take place from Friday, August 22 to Sunday, August 24, has yet to be announced but earlybird tickets go on sale tomorrow (August 30) at 10am.
