A WHOLE range of free activities for youngsters have been taking place over the summer at the Crompton Place.

Families got creative at the Children’s Food and Fun Emporium last weekend, as part of the Bolton Food and Drink Festival.

There to share her culinary expertise at various times throughout the bank holiday weekend was TV cook Justine Forrest who staged cake and biscuit decorating workshops with the children.

Malcolm Angus, Crompton Place manager, said: “As one of the main sponsors of Bolton Council’s Food and Drink Festival we wanted to play our part to make the festival as fun and successful as possible.

“We are at the heart of the town centre and so it made sense for us to host The Children’s Food and Fun Emporium.

“It was a real family favourite throughout the bank holiday weekend and I feel sure parents will have enjoyed such a welcome and free distraction during the summer holidays.”

And the shopping centre will continue with its free summer holiday activities this weekend when Strikerz Football Academy hosts its first ever shopping centre workshop on Saturday, August 31, from 11 am to 4 pm.

The workshop skills will be aimed at children under five, although the academy works with children aged up to 16 and all young people are welcome to come along to find out more about Strikerz.

Top coaches from Strikerz, set up by former professional footballer Dave Flitcroft, will be on hand to offer first-class tuition and guidance to budding future football stars free of charge.
