A BOLTON firm which advises on the sale, purchase and merger of companies has won the prestigious Deal of the Year award run by the Insider Dealmakers.
Benchmark International, whose UK base is in Folds Road on the edge of the town centre, advised on the shares in north Manchester company Archive solutions to Restore Plc, an office services company, in a deal worth £3.5 million and involving four trade buyers from the UK and USA.
Benchmark entered the fray after an initial £1.2 million offer from Restore, then found three further competing buyers.
The deal was eventually completed with Restore at more than twice the original value.
Other offers were higher, but advice concerning the deal structure, tax and suitability resulted in the offer being chosen.
Benchmark employs 50 staff at its Folds Road base.
