A MAN who punched a dancer in a Bolton town centre pub has avoided jail.
John Stott, aged 34, of Oscott Avenue, Little Hulton, was out celebrating getting a job at Barristers in Bradshawgate on October 19 when a row broke out with another man, Paul Smith, Bolton Crown Court was told.
Stott punched him on the right side of his face, he was taken to Royal Bolton Hospital with black eyes and blurred vision and Stott was arrested.
Stott admitted assault and was handed a 26-week sentence suspended for two years. He was told to pay Mr Smith £1,000 compensation.
