THEY may still be at high school but the career-minded teenagers at Essa Academy are already getting experience in the competitive job market.
The school, in Great Lever, held a Professional Interview Day which saw Year 11 pupils applying for jobs.
Professionals from the global organisation Accenture were on hand to share their expertise.
Students wrote a letter in response to a job advertisement, prepared a CV and received coaching on interview techniques. They took part in a mock interview and were given written and verbal feedback on how they did.
Student Hamzah Adam said: “The professional interview was an outstanding experience. “The enactment of a real interview has reduced my nerves and improved my confidence.
“I now have a clear understanding of what a real interview would be like and also I now know what I must do to improve.”
Teachers at Essa said more similar opportunities are being planned for pupils in partnership with Accenture.
