MARKETING undergraduates from Bolton are being invited to showcase their talents to a panel of industry experts at The Chartered Institute of Marketing's Pitch' event.

The annual competition will take place at Manchester Conference Centre on Tuesday, February 20.

It is open to undergraduates studying for a marketing degree in the North-west.

Working in teams of three, entrants must respond to a brief set by Brother UK, this year's sponsor, with a full marketing strategy.

They will also need to demonstrate an ability to handle budgets and make presentations.

Diane Earles, regional director of The Chartered Institute of Marketing in the North-west, said: "The Pitch really is a fantastic opportunity for marketing students to demonstrate their skills to leading figures in the marketing community."

The brief, which will be sent to all teams by email two weeks before the event, will be based around a real life scenario and will follow the same format as one normally issued to a marketing consultancy or agency.

Each team will then need to interpret the brief and produce a viable solution as their Pitch'.

The winning team will be awarded the coveted CIM Shield as well as goodies provided by Brother UK.

Team applications can be done online at www.cim-nw.org.uk/thepitch/apply.php.
