IVAN Campo has ended weeks of speculation over his future by insisting that he is happy to see out the remaining 18 months of his Reebok contract.

The Wanderers midfield ace was reported to be on the verge of a return to Spain with the Basque club, Athletic Bilbao, but he has told his Bolton bosses that he has no plans to move.

The situation had been confused in recent weeks, with Campo being quoted in the Spanish media as saying that, although he was happy and enjoying his football with Wanderers, he would consider it an honour, being of Basque origins himself, to play for Athletic.

But he moved swiftly yesterday to dismiss reports that claimed Wanderers had agreed a £2.5 million deal with the Spaniards.

His agent, Miguel Angel Cermeno, said: "Ivan is very happy at Bolton.

"He has no intention of leaving the club. He is really happy with the team and wants to complete his contract.

"I have transmitted this information to the coach (Sam Allardyce)."

Campo is suspended for Saturday's FA Cup third round tie at Doncaster after picking up five bookings.
