WANDERERS Under-18s made it back-to-back away wins with a 3-0 triumph in a rearranged league clash at Middlesbrough today.

Jamie Thomas opened the scoring on 25 minutes with a superb free-kick and when Will Abbotts volleyed home from 10 yards five minutes into the second half, the points were all-but secure.

Christopher Cvetko netted a third soon after to make it six points in the FA U18 Premier League in four days for David Lee and Tony Kelly’s youngsters.

Both Thomas and Abbots were in the goals at Wolves on Saturday as Lee’s young Whites won 3-2 in the Black Country.

Wanderers started brightly and Abbotts followed up a Thomas shot to score from six yards on 20 minutes.

He then glanced a header home just before the interval to double the advantage.

With 20 minutes left, Wolves substitute Regan Carthy headed in, but the two-goal advantage was restored five minutes from time when Thomas side-footed home.

Wolves got a consolation in stoppage time when Ibrahim Keifa coolly converted a penalty.

A delighted coach Lee told The Bolton News: “I was really pleased with the players’ application and togetherness in both games.

“After a difficult week’s training, due to only having six or eight players for each session with players either away on international duty, injuries, and some training with the development squad, the character and application throughout the week was testament to the calibre of players here at the academy.”

The U18s return to Lostock on Saturday for a home clash with Liverpool, kick off 11am.
