A FARNWORTH man has avoided jail after pleading guilty to kicking a bouncer in the face.
Craig Caroll, aged 24, of Presto Street, admitted assaulting doorman Rafike Riaz on September 7.
Bolton Magistrates court heard how Caroll had been out in Bolton town centre, celebrating the birth of his daughter with family members.
A row broke out when the group was later not allowed into the Post Office bar in Bradshawgate, Bolton, which resulted in a row with door staff.
The court heard that Caroll said he assaulted Mr Riaz in an attempt to protect his father during the incident, but admitted that his actions were “excessive”.
He was given a 20-week community order a curfew and ordered to pay £250 costs as well as £100 compensation to Mr Riaz.
