YOUNG people in Radcliffe are being given the chance to win free driving lessons as part of a course being run by a local firefighter.

Paul Simpson is hosting the free safe young drivers course at Evans Halshaw Ford in Crostons Road, Bury, over two nights in April.

The event is aimed at people aged 16 to 25 who are new or learner drivers, or who may be passengers in a vehicle driven by a young driver.

Everyone who attends the two sessions — who is 17 and above, or almost 17 — will have the opportunity to be entered into a free prize draw to win driving lessons courtesy of instructor Jim Thornton.

The event takes place on Tuesday, April 8, and Wednesday, April 9, from 7pm until 9pm, with registration from 6.45pm.

Over the two sessions, there will be presentations and practical demonstrations from Paul, Bury Council's Road Safety Unit and a local driving instructor.

Places are limited so anyone interested in taking part should get in touch with Paul as soon as possible by emailing syd@manchesterfire.gov.uk or calling 0161 909 0303.
