YOUNG, old and families are being invited to take part in the town’s Sport Relief Mile.

The event will take place on Sunday, March 23, there will be fun runs, activities and entertainment for everyone.

Those taking part can choose to take part in a one, three or six- mile run.

Other attractions on the day will include a free climbing wall, multi-use games arena and live music.

The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile, which will set off from Leverhulme Park running track, aims to encourage families to get fit and stay healthy while at the same time raising money for people in need in Bolton, across the rest of the UK and in some of the poorest countries in the world.

Cllr Anthony Connell, Bolton Council’s executive cabinet member for sports said: “It’s fantastic that so many people are once again gathering together to show their support for Sport Relief and raising money for charity.

“Bolton has some wonderful parks and green spaces for families to get out-and-about in.

“And this is a great opportunity for them to get active, keep fit and have fun together in the great outdoors.

“We want this to be the best Sport Relief Mile yet, so please enter today and join the rest of the nation in raising plenty of cash for a great cause.”

The event will run from noon to 4pm.
