AN engineering works that was destroyed by fire is to be demolished.
The building, in Tonge Moor Road, Bolton, housed offices and a workshop for Lace Control Systems and was gutted in a massive blaze last Thursday.
Bolton Council building control officers visited the premises on Saturday and said that they were structurally unsafe and should be demolished.
Lace bosses were this week looking for new premises from which to operate.
Another company, Metric Engineers, which operates from an adjoining building, has returned to the site.
A smaller, adjoining business has been advised not to return until the demolition work is carried out within the next few days.
A council spokesman said: "The unit where the fire started will have to be demolished as it is structurally unsafe and dangerous. Demolition contractors have assessed the site and work should start in the next few days."
