More than 28,000 runners will be taking part in the BUPA Great Manchester Run in May - and there are still places available.

North West children's charity MedEquip4Kids has limited guaranteed places for the six-mile event on Sunday, May 20, for runners who can raise money on their behalf.

A spokesman said: "As a part of the MedEquip4Kids team the charity will provide you with event hospitality, a t-shirt, support on the day and training and fundraising advice.

"MedEquip4Kids supplies funds, which enhance the care of sick babies and children all over the North West.

"By participating in the BUPA Great Manchester Run your sponsorship could help more babies like Joss who was born 10 weeks premature and weighed a tiny 4lb 2oz.

"Joss was placed in a special incubator supplied by MedEquip4Kids shortly after birth and after a few weeks of monitoring went on to make a full recovery."
