BRITAIN'S long-hours culture has killed lunch breaks, with almost nine out of 10 workers never having a full hour away from their desk.
Office culture and fear of their boss are blamed by employees who are tied to their computer terminals for most of the day.
Lifestyle website www.realbuzz.com says its survey of 2,000 workers shows that two out of three complained that they were forced to eat lunch at their desk.
Most of those who skipped a decent lunch break believed they did not reach their full potential, leaving them feeling dissatisfied.
Tim Rogers, of realbuzz.com, said: "Working long hours without a break increases workplace stress, contributes to low morale in the organisation and has serious health and safety implications."
