Police have issued a fresh photograph of four men caught on camera in a bar in Bolton on the night a man was found with serious head injuries close by.

The 32-year-old man became split up from his friends while on a works night out. He was found with serious head injuries, collapsed outside the Pachamama pub ouse at the junction of Bradshawgate and Silverwell Street at 2.05am on Friday, December 8.

The man was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital and was discharged a few days later. He was later re-admitted to hospital after his condition deteriorated that weekend.

He has since been released from hospital, but has returned a number of times for treatment.

A police spokesman said: "This picture shows four men that officers would like to speak to. It is thought they may come from the Salford area.

"The image was captured by a private photographer who happened to be taking photographs of revellers in the pub on the night of the incident."

The four men in question are believed to be among seven men shown caught on CCTV entering the bar that night. These images were released by GMP last month.

Detective Constable Miles James from Bolton CID said: "We are still keen to trace the people shown in the photograph. We simply want to speak to them about what they may have seen that night.

"The man was found with serious head injuries and it is vital that we are able to piece together what happened to him before police were called.

"I am not implying that any of those shown in the image are involved in criminal activity but I am keen to speak to them to ensure that we can build up as full a picture of the victim's movements on Bradshawgate that morning as possible.

"If you are shown in the image please contact Bolton CID on 0161 856 5740. Likewise, if you recognise any of those people shown please call the same number."

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact police and can give information anonymously, if they wish, on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
