WANDERERS Under-18s lost 4-2 at Liverpool today as they wrapped up their league campaign.
David Lee and Tony Kelly’s youngsters opened the scoring on Merseyside on 55 minutes when Will Abbotts fired home from a narrow angle.
But Liverpool equalised within two minutes through Daniel Trickett-Smith.
Just 60 seconds later it was 2-1 to the hosts when Rob Holding deflected a Sheyi Ojo cross into his own goal.
On 73 minutes, Pedro Chirivella tapped in a third for Liverpool before Jerome Sinclair made it 4-1.
A superb Christopher Cvetko strike from long range wrapped up the scoring late on.
Lee said: “We were ultimately beaten by a quality trio of goals.
“Games like this are always going to be a good learning curve for the team against some very talented players.
“Naturally, it is disappointing to end the season with a defeat, but the players will return stronger after summer.”
