DETAILS of Westhoughton’s special commemoration event for the centenary of the start of World War One have been finalised.
Tickets are still available for the musical theatre production at Westhoughton High School on Saturday, July 19, at 2pm.
The Houghton Weavers, Wingates Band and pupils from the school and local primary schools will join staff from the On The Go Theatre company in putting on a two-hour production.
As well as musical performances, hymns and prayers, the names of the 219 known servicemen from Westhoughton who died in World War One will be read out.
People can apply for a maximum of four tickets by emailing westhoughtontc@ tiscali.co.uk or writing to The Town Clerk, Westhoughton Town Council, Town Hall, Market Street, Westhoughton.
The closing date is June 9 and applicants successful in the ballot will receive their tickets by July 1.
