DESPITE £100 million worth of Tory/LibDem Government cuts to your council services, your Labour council has remained pro-active and mitigated their actions.

Damage limitation by your Labour council included Bolton’s own capital building programme, with millions injected into new schemes to generate employment.

This included the market refurbishment, housing regeneration, a new bus and rail interchange, road repairs, sports and leisure facilities, a new swimming pool and health centre, and play areas and parks.

To help families we kept school meals the cheapest in the country and kept our children’s centres open. For the older and frail we are introducing a 24/7 Integrated Care Service, maintaining free bus passes and have created a new autism centre.

We understand the public’s concern about immigration and worries about pressures on housing, schools and the NHS, but scapegoating sections of any community is not the Bolton way and something many Bolton citizens fought against in two world wars.

UKIP wants to cut your public services faster and deeper than the Tories, abolish maternity pay, cut taxes for the wealthiest and take billions out of the NHS, favouring charging for some services.

Our three priorities remain steadfast — creating economic prosperity for all, caring for our most frail citizens and improving our services. Our values and priorities have mitigated against Tory/LibDem cuts and, with your support, we want to continue to improve the lives of all Bolton people.
