The Lancashire men's county pool team are holding trials for new players to join the squad for the 2007 season.

The trials are being held at Rileys in Preston city centre on Sunday, January 28.

Players wishing to take part must register at the venue at 9.30am on the day, with play starting at 10am.

There is a £5 entry fee per player which covers all table costs for the day. All games will be played to World Rules.

Spokesman Dave Robinson said: "The trials are run using a Swiss system where players get a number of lives, so you are not out even if you lose your 1st match.

"Successful players must be available to play one Sunday per month."

The Lancashire County Pool team is made up from the very best players from all over the County and are the current English National Champions.

But Robinson added: "We are always looking to welcome new talent into our team, it will be an enjoyable day of competetive pool for all involved so why not come and have a go!"
