A DRINK-driver who crashed into a central reservation barrier has apologised for his behaviour.
Daniel O’Donnell was over the drink-drive limit when he hit the barrier on Chorley New Road, Horwich, in a Seat Ibiza at 3am on May 4.
The impact caused damage, estimated at £5,000, to the barrier.
At Bolton Magistrates Court O’Donnell, aged 25, of Dale View, Chorley, pleaded guilty to drink- driving.
“I can only say I can’t excuse what I have done and I certainly apologise,” O’Donnell told District Judge Jonathan Finestein.
“It was a reckless decision by myself to get into the motor vehicle.” Judge Finestein banned O’Donnell from driving from 18 months, fined him £400 and ordered him to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £40 victim surcharge.
“This could have been a very serious situation for yourself and others, the judge told O’Donnell.
