FORMER footballer Gary Neville is hoping to impress food festival-goers with his skills in the kitchen later today.
The Bury-born 39-year-old, who lives in Bolton, will take part in a live cook-off at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival (MFDF).
The ex-England and Manchester United defender is taking to the stage of the Festival Hub, in Albert Square, ahead of the opening of Hotel Football — a joint venture with Ryan Giggs, due to open next to Old Trafford in December. The Hotel Football Masterclass will take place at 5.30pm. The festival runs until Monday and a bar stocking beers from three Bolton breweries, Bank Top, Dunscar Bridge and Blackedge, is open until Sunday.
