Benjamin Webster, who admitted two other shop thefts and failed to provide a drugs test when arrested, took a £33 sex toy on October 1.
Webster, aged 34, admitted a string of offences when he appeared at Bolton Magistrates’ Court on October 2.
While in police detention on October 1, Webster refused to provide officers with a non-intimate sample so they could see whether he had any class A drugs in his system.
Webster, of Chorley New Road, also took food from Co-op and Asda stores in Bolton on September 8 and September 30 respectively, and was offending while serving a period of conditional discharge.
Magistrates jailed Webster for 12 weeks, to be suspended for a year, because of his record and the orders he was breaching. They imposed a six-month curfew on Webster, during which he must remain at home overnight and wear an electronic tag.
