REMEMBER dancing the night away at the Ritzy nightclub, previously known as Cinderella Rockerfellas, and later Ikon and Jaxx?

It could now be yours, as it is on the market for £450,000.

The landmark club on the corner of Bridge Street and St George's Road in Bolton town centre was originally built as the Astoria Palais de Dance in 1928.

With a ground and mezzanine floor as well as basement levels, it saw generations of Bolton revellers strut their stuff on the dance floor.

Now, it's up for sale again, at £450,000, and might be suitable for alternative uses.

The main entrance is on the corner, and the part-rendered brick building has undergone a partial refurbishment ready for conversion to a restaurant, complete with revamped kitchen space which includes toilets.

Inside, it is unlikely to look as you remember it from clubbing days, as the layout and fixtures have been changed, although there is still a predominantly large open area which could be converted back to a club to revive the glory days.

Smokers are catered for with a courtyard at the back, and there is a stage at the far end of the building, while a mezzanine level overlooks what used to be the dance floor and comes with a bar area and additional ladies' toilets.

There are staff rooms and offices, too, found at the back of the building.

The basement level is accessed from Bridge Street, leading to what used to be Jaxx nightclub. Formerly known as Jumping Jaks, you'll find a pay desk here, as well as three bars, and ladies' and gents' loos. Delivery doors lead to the beer cellar below, and there's access to the external smoking area.

The premises, which can hold 2,540 people, are next to a public multi-storey car park and the Market Place shopping centre, and there is a Holiday Inn and casino across the road.

The Bolton News reported in August last year that Ikon was due to be re-opened as a large world buffet restaurant.
