A last minute goal from Chris Simm sealed a priceless point for RMI in their fight against relegation with a terrific draw at the Conference North leaders.

After last weekend's defeat at Alfreton, RMI boss Stuart Humphreys was boosted with the return from suspension of veteran centre half Mark Maddox, while former Port Vale youngster Owen Roberts retained his place in the side after an impressive debut last weekend following his transfer from Unibond League side Clitheroe.

Owen started the game on the bench with Humphreys going against recent selections and choosing to partner Mark Jackson with Chris Simm up front in a strikeforce that certainly has the potential to blossom into a prolific partnership.

The manager's decision proved to be justified just five minutes short of the break when former Preston striker Jackson, celebrating his 21st birthday, gave his side the lead with his first goal for the club since scoring a hat-trick in the 4-3 home victory over Hucknall in December.

But the lead did not last long and the hosts got themselves level on the stroke of half-time when former Southport and Wigan striker Steve Daly beat John Lamb in the RMI goal.

After putting up such a brave fight, it seemed that Daly's second goal of the afternoon ten minutes into the second half would condemn RMI to defeat, only for Simm to come up with a piece of magic with virtually the last kick of the game and earn a priceless point for his side ahead of Tuesday's trip to bottom side Lancaster, with Harrogate Town visiting Hilton Park on Saturday.
