NORTH-west business travellers will soon have another option of flights to Australia following the launch of a new service to Sydney from Manchester.

From March 26, Etihad Airways will commence thrice-weekly flights via Abu Dhabi using a three-class Airbus A340-500 aircraft.

Flightdeck, situated in Mawdsley Street, has been given special consolidated fares on the route.

Sales director Paul Sutton said: "The new service is great news for the region's travellers and will help to fill the gap left by Malaysia Airlines which pulled out of Manchester at the beginning of last year. Etihad Airways operate daily flights from Manchester to Abu Dhabi which is a superb choice of stopover destination en-route to Australia."
