A 24-year-old man was last night charged with terrorism offences.
Abdul Rahman, of Heywood Street, Cheetham Hill, Manchester, was arrested by Greater Manchester Police's anti-terror unit on January 23.
Last night he was charged with offences under the Terrorism Act 2000. It was alleged he was engaged in acts with the intention to assist another to commit acts of terrorism. He allegedly committed the offences between April 13 last year until his arrest.
A second man arrested during the same anti-terror swoop has been released without charge.
