dPAVING slabs have been stolen from a garden area established by volunteers in the middle of the road outside Fred Dibnah's home.
The volunteers, from The Haugh in Bloom group, are devastated that 20 slabs have been taken from a plot of land in Radcliffe Road known as The Triangle Just two paving stones - which were covered by leaves - have been left.
Renee Oakes, chair of The Haugh in Bloom, said: "People give up their spare time to make the area look nice, and now they feel disillusioned."
The incident has been reported to the police.
It is believed the slabs were taken last week. Anyone with information should call police on 0161 872 5050.
