RESIDENTS in Tyldesley are being urged not to put their bins out the night before they are due for collection following a spate of wheelie bin fires.
Arsonists set fire to a bin which had been dragged into the youth shelter in Tyldesley Park at 6pm on Sunday.
A bin in an alleyway in Whewell Street, Tyldesley, was also set alight at 7.30pm.
They had been put out ahead of emptying day on Monday.
Atherton Fire Station crew manager, Dave Farrington said: "We would ask people to put their bins out on the morning of collection to avoid this kind of problem."
