John Charlson has been elected the new president of the Bolton Cricket Association.
Mr Charlson, who has been chairman of the league for the last 10 years, takes over from Tom Boardman who has served as president for the last decade.
Frank Jackson steps up from vice chairman to take over the chairmanship.
Mr Charlson, who is approaching 50 years as secretary of Atherton Cricket Club, said: "It's a great honour for me to be invited to take the post of president.
"I have had a lifelong involvement with the Bolton Association and I have been chairman for the last 10 years so it is something of a natural progression and I am delighted to do it.
"I have been going to Association meetings for 48 years, so I know a fair bit about what goes on in the league and I'm looking forward to doing it along with my other responsibilities as team manager of Lancashire under-11s and being on the executive board of the LCB."
