RESIDENTS are being urged to make use of a neighbourhood police team.
Three police officers and three police community support officers have been based at the police post in Pavilion Square, off Cricketer's Way, in Westhoughton town centre, from 9.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
The team is available to address local concerns and provide crime-prevention advice. Personal safety items such as attack alarms are also available from the post.
Insp Simon Miskell said: "The neighbourhood team would like more residents to approach them with their concerns or issues, whether crime-related or about general quality of life in Westhoughton. We want to create a community where residents feel safe and secure."
