FIREMEN are warning people of the potential dangers of electric blankets following a fire at a house in Cornwall Drive, Bury on Monday evening.
A woman suffered minor burns putting out the flames after the blanket on her bed caught fire.
A fire service spokesman said owners should ensure their blankets carry British or European safety marks and, if they are more than 12 months old, have them checked by an electrician before use.
