AN OLD people's home blacklisted by Bolton Council after a report criticised its standard of care is to close.
Residents at Haulgh Cottage, in Radcliffe Road, The Haulgh, will be rehomed.
A team from the Commission for Social Care Inspection, which monitors social care in England and Wales, visited the home in November, last year.
Inspectors said they found "unkempt" residents, sitting in "stained clothes". They also criticised general standards of cleanliness.
Haulgh Cottage cares for 39 pensioners and charges up to £339 per week.
A spokesman said: "After much consideration the owners of Haulgh Cottage have regrettably decided to close the home."
