AN estate in Westhoughton is being included in a national inquiry into storm damage to roofs of houses built by Redrow Homes.
BBC TV reported complaints by residents living on 26 estates built by Redrow Homes, including three in the North-west, that ridge tiles were blown off their properties during storm-force gales last month.
Homeowners living on one of those estates - Hartford Road in Daisy Hill, Westhoughton - have demanded an explanation from Redrow Homes.
Nigel Travis, aged 44, from Bentworth Close, said: "These homes were only built six years ago and you do not expect the tiles to come off.
"What if someone had been injured? I don't know who would be responsible."
Redrow confirmed to the BBC that it had launched a "full-scale investigation".
A spokesman for Redrow Homes said: "Many homes experienced damage as a result of the worst storms to hit the North-west in 20 years.
"We are currently looking into the reports of damage notified to us by our customers and will properly investigate these reports and deal with them in the appropriate manner.
"It is, however, important that customers notify us via the proper channels."
