POLICE have issued a warning after a spate of thefts of metal from vans.
GMP officer believe thieves are stealing the exhaust systems and catalytic converters from vans because they contain high value metal.
There has been a recent increase in these type of thefts across Bolton, especially from Mercedes Sprinter and Vito van models
A spokesman for the Bolton North neighbourhood policing team said: “If you see someone paying extra attention to a van, report it before they have the opportunity to commit an offence.”
Motorists are being advised to park their vans in places where offenders will not be able to climb underneath them.
Police suggest parking in well-lit areas or on driveways and if possible installing security lights.
