A TV appeal for witnesses to a violent bank raid in Horwich, has given police a number of new leads.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Law from Greater Manchester's Major Incident Team, made a plea for witnesses after a dramatic reconsruction of the incident was show on the BBC's Crimewatch programme on Thursday night.
Robbers opened fire on a police van after escaping from Barclays Bank in Winter Hey Lane with £200,000. The incident happened last November.
Thursday's Crimewatch programme also saw a bank worker describe how she thought she was going to die at the hands of the armed gang.
The woman described how the men dragged her around the bank "like a rag doll" and pleaded with viewers to help catch the gang so she could carry on with her life.
The dramatic reconstruction also featured a 26-year-old police constable who cheated death when his van was blasted with a shotgun as the men escaped with £200,000.
The officer had sped after their getaway car as it left the bank - and even continued the chase after a gun was pointed directly at him by one of the masked thugs in the car.
