A BLACKROD road will reopen tomorrow after Network Rail made a dramatic u-turn on its plans.
Grimeford Lane will be open to the public from Wednesday night onwards.
The railway body decided to go back on plans to carry out bridge rebuilding work at the same time that a similar project is going on at the nearby Station Road in Blackrod.
The bridges need to be rebuilt to a higher level to allow new overhead wires that will service the electrified train network.
Residents and councillors had been suffering traffic chaos since the Grimeford Lane Closure began on March 2 and Network Rail agreed to postpone the work until later in the year.
