A MAN is in hospital after being struck on the head with a weapon in broad daylight.
The 26-year-old man was assaulted in Weston Street in Burnden, near the junction with Nelson Street, at 10.21am yesterday morning.
He suffered a head injury and was rushed to the Royal Bolton Hospital, where he remains.
A police cordon was in place outside Booth Industries in Nelson Street for much of yesterday.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said the man had been struck on the head by an “unknown implement”.
