NEIL Warnock is hoping a spell of warm weather training will pay off when Sheffield United resume their survival mission at the Reebok a week today.

Injured duo, Matthew Kilgallon and Mikele Leigertwood, are back in the first team reckoning after making significant strides in their respective comeback bids during a four-day training break in Portugal.

Kilgannon, whose foot injury has seen him sidelined since he joined the Blades from Leeds United in January, and Leigertwood, whose ankle problem has kept him out since December, could both be in the reckoning for the Wanderers clash, if they continue to progress.

Warnock said: "Matthew and Mikele have trained exceptionally well and that's great to see. Matthew has worked hard and he's told us that he doesn't feel any reaction in his ankle.

"We've got a reserve team match next week and there's a chance, when we reassess the situation, that he could be involved. If he comes through that then who knows?

"Mikele is also doing well and I'm looking at trying to arrange some sort of match for him to play in earlier on.

"But one thing I can say for certain is that they wouldn't have been able to do as much if they'd stayed at home in Sheffield."
