IN the second semi-final of the Open Cup, Hulton Lane A beat local rivals Deane 2-1, in a dour game. Both sides cancelled each other out, but man-of-the-match Gareth Cunniff got both goals for the winners. Paul Charlton got Dean's goal.
In the league, Lever Bridge are champions of Division One. They beat Park Gt Lever 4-0, while nearest rivals T&S Northwest Removals went down 2-1 to The Royal. There were wins for Prince Rupert and Farnworth Royal.
In the Premier Section Vulcan are the new leaders, they beat Britannia FW 4-0 at Brook Street. In the other game Arkwrights beat Smithills 4-0 to move into joint second with Jolly Waggoner.
