WANDERERS star Nicolas Anelka has reiterated his desire to stay at the Reebok - for now.

Bolton's record signing, who starred in France's victory in Lithuania over the weekend, says he has no plans to leave the Premiership club.

Just last week, the 28-year-old striker credited Wanderers for re-igniting his flagging international career.

And now the former Arsenal, Real Madrid, Paris St Germain, Liverpool and Manchester City hitman has said he has not even considered a move elsewhere.

"I've not thought about moving because there are no offers from elsewhere," Anelka told French newspaper L'Equipe "If I receive an offer from a big club I would think about it but at the moment I am happy at Bolton."

Anelka, who joined Wanderers in a club-record £8m deal from Fenerbahce in August 2006, struck his first goal for his country on Saturday since November 2005.

And the Whites ace believes his performance, which earned praise from Les Bleus' coach Raymond Domenech, merited his selection after being left out of the national side for the 2006 World Cup finals.

"It was one of my best matches in the French team," said Anelka, who is set to lead the line once again in France's friendly in Austria tomorrow night.

"I was always aware of my qualities. I do not want to reopen the argument but I remain convinced I was left out because of my character rather than my play."

The enigmatic Frenchman also admitted he had been tempted by a move to Lyon in the summer, but his desire to return to the Premiership ensured he joined Wanderers instead.

He said: "Was I tempted by Lyon last summer? Yes. But even if Lyon is a great European club, the fact it is in France blocks a lot of things in my mind.

"When you have lived aboard, above all in England, it is difficult to come back. There, everything is the best - the league, the stadiums' atmosphere, the daily life. There is nothing to change."

Anelka was one of six Wanderers players to emerge from the international weekend unscathed.

Tal Ben Haim and Stelios Giannakopoulos were both involved in Euro 2008 qualifiers, for Israel and Greece against England and Turkey respectively; El-Hadji Diouf and Abdoulaye Faye helped Senegal overcome Tanzania 4-0 in their African Nations Cup qualifying campaign - the former setting up two goals; while Teymourian Adranik helped Iran to a 1-0 win against Qatar.

Now Sam Allardyce will be hoping his players can remain injury free from their latest round of matches ahead of Bolton's vital home clash with Sheffield United on Saturday.

Anelka, Stelios, Jussi Jaaskelainen, Ben Haim, Idan Tal - who returns after missing Israel's goalless draw with England through suspension - are all expected to be involved in games tomorrow night.

The rest of the Wanderers squad, meanwhile, returned to training today after being given a three-day break by Allardyce.

And the Bolton boss will be looking for a vast improvement from his side against the Blades as they look to halt a four-game losing run and get their UEFA Cup challenge, which has faltered badly since the turn of the year, back on track.
