A MAN threatened to jump from a bridge over the A666.
Police were called at about 12.20pm after the man was standing on the wrong side of the railings of the Bradford Street bridge over St Peter's Way near Toys R Us.
He came back over to safety after a few minutes.
Witnesses said members of the public were talking to the man in a bid to help him.
A police spokesman said he was not hurt and was "dealt with appropriately" after the incident.
