FIREFIGHTERS had to climb into a Johnson Fold flat through a bathroom window after a woman fell asleep with food on the cooker.
Crews were scrambled to the property in Hollin Hey Road after neighbours heard a smoke alarm going off inside.
A female resident, aged 28, had fallen asleep with food on the cooker and the kitchen had become filled with smoke.
One of the crew was able to climb into the flat through the bathroom window and alert the woman, who was safely removed from the property.
The crews ventilated the flat and made the area safe.
