WANDERERS striker Kevin Davies was put through his paces by young people looking to him as a role model.

The Whites favourite faced a barrage of questions at the Reebok Stadium during a question-and-answer session.

The questions came from young people on a 12-week personal development team programme supported by the Premier League, the Professional Footballers' Association, the Football Foundation and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.

The programme is aimed at helping young people back into education, employment or training and is run by The Prince's Trust Football Initiative, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. It uses the practical support of clubs and the appeal of the game to improve young people's motivation and confidence while giving them qualifications.

Davies said: "Bolton's success has been built on hard work and determination.

"We want to pass these qualities on to young people so they make the most of their lives."

Prince's Trust football development manager Sharron Hawkins said: "Meeting a professional footballer motivates the group and can help them understand the importance of issues like self- confidence, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle.

"Bolton Wanderers have been absolutely fantastic in their support."
